Emergency Senior Meals
Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson launched an Emergency Senior Meals program to support residents in our district over the age of 65 during the COVID-19 pandemic. This program engages small, family-owned bussinesses to prepare and deliver healthy meals to seniors in Council District 8. The citywide "Safe at Home" order requires residents to remain at home except to preform essential tasks like picking up groceries medecine and necessary supplies. Our seniors are considered extremely vulnerable and this program helps thousands of seniors recieve a free meal without leaving their homes.
The Emergency Senior Meals program is expanding to support more seniors in our District. Council District 8 residents can sign up and request to recieve a free healthy meal delicered to their home. If you are interested in receiving free meals through our program, please complete this form. We strive to serve as many CD8 seniors as possible and will call you to confirm you are enrolled in the program. The completion of this form alone does not guarantee you will receive free meals.
