  • LOS ANGELES, CA – Today as Co-Chair of the Homelessness and Poverty Committee, I led my colleagues in taking the important steps towards addressing our growing homelessness problem. With a unanimous vote from the council members, we managed to find compromise among the varying opinions. We found common ground on declaring a shelter crisis, which would facilitate more emergency shelters in the city and looked at options for a “safe parking” program for people who are forced to live in their cars. Today we made progress in balancing the needs of every Angeleno and began to provide solutions and resources to help these individuals get back on their feet.

  • LOS ANGELES, CA – Los Angeles City Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson hosted a community celebration at Crenshaw High School on Saturday, October 10, to celebrate his first 100 days in office. Councilmember Harris-Dawson detailed his recent key actions, shared his goals for the Eighth District and asked for community input on how to move forward in the next phase of his term.

  • LOS ANGELES – Today, Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson, issued a statement regarding graphic photos that have recently surfaced online showing two victims at the scene of a South Los Angeles shooting. The photos show two victims lying on the ground in blood at the crime scene which was located at Florence Avenue and Hobart Boulevard.
