When Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson took office in July 2015, he launched the CD 8 Clean and Safe Streets Initiative to focus on infrastructure repair and street beautification and to raise the profile and usage of 311 in Council District 8. The goal of the initiative is to increase government responsiveness and provide the quality of city services that reflect the needs of the District. The initiative is a coordinated effort with residents, community-based organizations, block clubs, and neighborhood councils to mobilize and educate residents about the use of 311, which mobilize city services to address illegal dumping, graffiti, and other issues.
All CD8 residents are encouraged to join the Clean and Safe Streets Initiative to clean up our neighborhoods and increase 311 requests for CD 8. To report bulky items, illegal dumping, graffiti, or other issues call 311 or use the free MyLA311 app. To sign up your group as a community partner to lead community clean-ups and 311 trainings, call our District Office at 213-485-7616.
